A long time ago in New York, at Paul Colby’s fabled nightclub the Bitter End, I had the wonderful opportunity to share a bill with Lori Lieberman. For a week, doing two shows a night,
we not only packed the place, but , as we say in the business, we both ‘threw it down real good’. This was right about the time that Lori’s ‘Killing Me Softly’ was becoming a hit for
Roberta Flack, and it was very special for all of us to observe the excitement and growth that seemed to grow nightly in Lori. On top of that, our musical work and performance complimented
each other so much that it was like seeing and hearing both sides of the same coin.
I am thrilled to report that nothing has changed.
I’m further thrilled to announce that Lori and I will be sharing the stage again for a ‘one night stand’ at Phil Ciganer’s renowned Towne Crier Cafe, in Pawling, New York.
I strongly urge those of you who can make it to attend.
Just like ‘a long time ago’, I promise you an evening you’ll not forget.
Word on the street is that we both plan to ‘throw it down real good’.
