1973

Kama Sutra 568
Recorded at the Hit Factory, NYC
Produced by Terry Cashman and Tommy West
Arranged by Pete Dino

Even if you consider yourself a diehard Jim Dawson fan, you probably never knew this song existed. This was recorded in 1973 while JIm was still at Kama Sutra and had just started working with Cashman and West as his producers. It was recorded as a single and promo copies were pressed but the single was never released. For some reason, when the "Jim Dawson" album was recorded in 1974, this song fell through the cracks and was forgotten. We were lucky enough to find a copy and make a digital version for the website. Jim remembers this song well and says, "Let's Pretend was a GREAT song and should have been a hit." I think you will agree. Listen to this two or three times and it will become one of your favorites. It's a lovely song about the breakup of a romance with a very interesting rhythm. We hope you enjoy it.
